Staff Training and Support
All new and incumbent teaching staff undertake a comprehensive orientation program to introduce them to the mobile learning environment at the College. Below, teachers commencing in the Trinity Pathways Program receive training in using the digital resources available at the College, making use of the classroom AV equipment, and exploring ways to increase interactivity using iPad apps and the Learning Management System. The groups sessions helped everyone get to know one another, and created a very dynamic space for learning.
Getting support with learning tools
A program of eLearning training and support needs to be flexible, ongoing, and differentiated to meet the needs of teachers with varied priorities and interests. The resources put in place to assist teachers to develop their materials, lesson planning and activities with eLearning in mind, must be accessible, guided, and have multiple entry points. Face to face workshop style sessions suit many people, and when sessions are available they will be advertised internally and you can register to attend the sessions, or request a session using the form to the right. The collegial opportunities offered in this format should not be underestimated. However, well-designed online resources can complement face to face professional development, while also fulfilling the demand professionals have for flexible access, and resources for revision.
Online guides and PD Modules
A large number of guides to using the eLearning and other digital tools supported at Trinity have been created for teaching staff. These are located on the TCOLE Learning Management System.
