This interactive session will present the investigation and findings of an iPad-based inquiry I completed in Drama at TCFS on student engagement as part of a Master’s degree at Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Discover how you could apply the use of the iPad Notes App in your own classroom based on the “snapshot” or “spot check” possibilities of the mini whiteboard (a popular teaching method in the UK). The session hopes to get you thinking about TCFS’ student engagement, understanding and reflection. Working from the principle of “low threshold entry point” (Anderson, 2015), because I know as busy teachers we want strategies that are low effort but offer high impact, I’ll share the strategy I’ve tried and then give you opportunities to develop and share your own ideas with colleagues that you should be able to take into your classroom the very next day. If we have time, I’ll also show you how I’ve been using Class Dojo.
